Measured byHull Gauge5 Nov 2026 46 boats · Firm
Figures by Hull Gauge, the independent measure of what boats are worth, from asking prices of 46 comparable boats built 1987–1993 listed in Europe and the US, in today's prices, recomputed 5 Nov 2026. Asking prices, not sold prices. Chance of a cut: boats seen on one site at least 14 days apart, grouped by asking price against the median of their model's other boats built within three years, listed in the last 84 months, all markets pooled. A chance of a cut is how boats priced like this have fared; not a promise. Not a survey and not an offer. Check them: hullgauge.com/boats/grand-banks/grand-banks-42-classic/1990

“Your boat is worth less than you hoped” lands better when the seller can see the boats that say so.

No leads sold, ever
Buyers who use Hull Gauge are never sold to brokers, and brokers are never ranked by payment.
We ask
Sold prices, privately
The final price when a boat you listed sells. Never published individually, never shown to another broker, used only in aggregate with at least ten sales from three firms per figure.
Tell us when we are wrong
A wrong year, model or length on one of your boats. One click from your dashboard.
Nothing else
No exclusivity, no listing feed, no minimum term. Leave whenever you like.
Sold prices are the one thing no one can scrape. Shared privately by brokers, they let us measure the gap between asking and selling instead of guessing it.

Questions brokers ask
Do you republish my listings?+
No. We keep facts about each boat (model, year, asking price, length, engine hours, VAT status and where it lies) and, to recognise the same boat over time, your advert’s address, title and reference and your trading name. No photographs, descriptions, seller names or links to your advert appear on Hull Gauge.
What happens to sold prices I contribute?+
They are never published individually and never shown to another broker. They are used only in aggregate, with at least ten sales from three firms per figure, to measure the gap between asking and sold prices.
Will Hull Gauge compete with me for buyers?+
No. We are not a marketplace and never will be: no listings, no enquiry forms, no leads. A buyer who finds a price on Hull Gauge still buys through a broker.
Can I pay to have a figure changed?+
No. If a figure is wrong because a boat is wrong, tell us; once a person has checked it, it is corrected for everyone. Nobody can pay for a better number.
What if I don’t want you reading my site?+
Block HullGaugeBot in your robots rules and we stop within a day. To remove what we already hold, use the website route on our opt-out page: requests are confirmed within 5 working days.
